Plan Review for Permitted Establishments:

Facilities which require a permit to operate from the Health Department must have their establishment plans prior approved by the Health Department--These facilities include retail food establishments, hotels/motels, schools, mobile home/RV parks, youth camps, tattoo/body piercing studios, and swimming pools.  Plans/Drawings must be reviewed by the Health Department then forwarded to Housings, Buildings, and Construction.  Plan review fees are typically $50 for most establishments, however mobile home/RV parks are $47 and swimming pools vary depending on type and size.  Contact your local Health Department with any questions. Plans must be submitted according to the following guidelines:

  • Five sets of drawings submitted, drawn to scale preferably.

  • Each set is to consist of a site plan, floor plan, and a plumbing riser diagram.  Site Plans should detail the property being developed, abutting streets/highways, creeks or streams, and where water and sewer service abut the property.  The Floor Plan should consist of areas proposed as a commercial facility in detail, including equipment layout, type of ventilation, floor, wall and ceiling surfaces, lighting arrangement and location of existing or proposed plumbing fixtures.  The plumbing riser diagrams should consist of isometric drawings of all proposed plumbing in the facility.

  • Each submission should be accompanied by a completed plan application form and the required plan review fee.

  • Contact Justin Pittman, Environmental Health Director at 502-484-3412 ext. 119 for more information.
