Worksite Wellness:
Three Rivers District Health Department offers TRALE, a health risk appraisal assessment tool. The screening includes evaluation of blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and body fat percentage. It also involves a comprehensive questionnaire to assess individual health risk factors in various aspects of life.
Health screening offers many benefits, including prevention of disease. Some people may not know they have risk factors for certain chronic, but preventable illnesses until they are screened. Many times seeing results encourage people to take action to prevent or reverse chronic illness or risk factors. Offering such screenings also demonstrates to employees that their employers care about their health.
Three Rivers also offers convenience by brining this service to the people we serve. There is no need for them to schedule appointment and wait at a doctor’s office. Additionally, the results may provide information about what kinds of preventative activities the Health Department needs to be focusing on in the counties we serve.
