Healthy Start in Child Care
WHAT IS HEALTHY START IN CHILD CARE?
Healthy Start in Child Care is a program designed to provide comprehensive consultation, guidance, and education to family-centered and licensed day care operators. Specially trained childcare consultants are available for consultation in the areas of injury prevention; nutrition, issues of abuse and neglect, and communicable disease prevention. The consultants are also available to answer questions regarding childhood immunizations.
WHAT IS A CHILD CARE HEALTH CONSULTANT?
Child Care Consultants are health professionals in the local health departments who are available to assist and advise out-of home child care providers regarding health, safety and nutrition issues impacting the quality of child care.
WHAT AREA DOES THE CHILD CARE HEALTH CONSULTANT COVER?
The Child Care Health Consultant for the Three Rivers District includes Carroll, Gallatin, Owen and Pendleton Counties.
